Spain Trip Part II: Valencia

[Day 1]
Though we arrived just in time to catch the tail end of Carnival in Valencia, it would have been nice to experience more. Everyone dresses up like it’s Halloween, and it kinda made me decide that I want to have a Halloween party off season sometime when everyone will be around to celebrate it together again! From the moment we stepped out of the train station, Valencia was beautiful. Mosaic is definitely a dominant feature in the architecture here.
"I <3 Spain"
Sunday morning we got up and walked around the market for a little, it is so much fun in Spain! But then went to the beach which definitely made the day! It was a little too cold to lay out, but I took my shoes off, made Brenna take hers off as well, and walked around, even in the water a little bit. The sand was so soft and felt revitalizing after wearing shoes so much! We stayed there for a while, drew words in the sand, searched for seashells and posed with some decorative washed up boats.

[Day 2]
Monday was incredible! We went to the science and arts museum in the modern part of the city. The buildings are a site worth seeing alone! There were a lot of different activities to do in the Science section, a lot of illusions, and mind opening things. It boosted my level of interest in innovation a remarkable amount!

Cluster: 4 spacecrafts launched in 2002 to pursue a detailed investigation of the interaction between the sun and the earth and particularly focus on solar winds.
Left to Right: Ariane, Suyuz, Vega.
Traditional Valencian Bar
Sewing machine for soccer balls
Comic Section
Now we break from chronological order and continue with the random order that blog spot has chosen...My apologies
Jessie! It's a flamingo!
This is the next set of buildings; the oceanographic part.

Brenna's clingy grasshopper.
There were a few different buildings providing aquarium sensations. I could live somewhere like that!

Baby Penguin

Not as if that was incredible enough… we got to see a dolphin show! Words cannot describe how incredible it was. And Delaney I definitely thought of you, we will go swim with the dolphins yet! The trainers I’m almost more jealous of than the dolphins of who could already do incredible flips. The trainers got to be carried by dolphins as if they were flying. Goodness, dolphins are so incredibly intelligent! The trainers got to fly! Life’s not long enough to do everything… but I’m going to try anyways I guess!

Day half over, let's start from the beginning again. And re-enter the park: take two.

Home modeling ideas

Hatching chicks in incubation <3 Adorable

What you can't see is an ecosystem of ants at work. It was very cool.
An experiment with heliographics.

"If there is something truly right, it's that all or almost all people are ignorant. And it makes me mad because there once had been a time in which an awakened mind could acquire all there was to know of the time. But now it is not possible. Now there's nothing more than little wise people who know all about almost nothing. And I am one of those people."

And to continue once again:

Our friend beluga:
Cutie pie.

Don't litter, ANYWHERE. It all ends up here. And surfing in it was pretty DISGUSTING.

I'm going to go swimming with that.

Some reason this guy reminds me of Mom.
Sorry.

Hemisphere Break:
Rosetae Spoonbill
Scarlet Ibis

Down under the sea.

We got to crawl into a bubble dome. As if the tunnels weren't real enough. :)
Music throughout the whole thing created incredible tranquility!
Time to start over again!
Just kidding, this is all on the way out!

These trees are so fun to climb on! In America, I believe you can only climb on the trees in your backyard though. Liabilities....

Grandpa and grandchild
Oil and vinegar for the bread.
Random restaurant on the way back:

And a very tasty meal.

The market all closed up! Goodnight!
[Day 3]
There was an older woman in our hostel room last night, who snored loudly. Like a shot heard around the world, it was a large intervention that you all in America probably couldn’t really hear, but at the same time it would not surprise me if you did. Thus being the case, sleep did not occur well last night. And within all the excitement and perhaps not having enough time to rest, though I felt quite brilliant on Sunday and still good yesterday, my body decided to develop another round of symptoms. I figure it feels obliged to hit all of them at separate times, which I guess isn’t as bad as all together in some ways because for the post part I can still function. So I’ve already had swollen tonsillitis, took care of that, then got a very sore throat, probably the virus going around, so I rested briefly Sunday, and took care of that. I got a slight head ache yesterday, treated that with a coke, thank you Mom, and now I have an incredible cough that has successfully made it sound like I have laryngitis. Not the ideal way to spend spring break, but apart from that it’s still quite fun.
Here we enter the center park called el Jardin del Turia. Runs right through the city.
Another one of these things! this one had three peaks!

We stopped in at the museums to rest a bit. After 2 cups of tea, 2 of juice, and 1 of Airborn, the bathroom was a little necessary, and unlike France, it was actually free!
But shall I continue?
A large music hall

We
The ship we were supposed to take to Ibiza. Too much $. We considered being super-fast fishies instead.
A larger than life version of Gilligan? My reference may be mistaken.

The sun felt wonderful despite the cool breeze. There’s a lot of construction going on right now, everywhere really… Barcelona, Valencia, Metz! But it’s all to try to boost the economy. There was another awesome play ground. They really make them for big kids. I promise. Zip line, poles, and spinny objects, multi-spatial see-saws. It really is a lot of fun.

We took our shoes off again and walked along the beach. I love the moments when I forget it’s February. One more day on the beach; the next two places would sadly not have this.

People are out walking their dogs, gathering around someone doing tricks with a Chinese yoyo or a kite.

Valencia is designated my favorite city so far. As cool as the geography was in Nice, or the atmosphere and history in Rome, or the magic of Paris, theirs is nothing like Valencia’s beauty. The buildings are full of color, with or without the mosaic sparkling in the sun, large portions of the city are decorated with monuments, parks with flower gardens, glistening water fountains, or just water contained in a shallow pool fashion. The sea is right near by the weather was great, and in the center of the city is innovation at its greatest: the Science and Arts museums. The central park that splits the city in half has fields for soccer, just trails to run, playgrounds for kids and me, a half pipe for skateboards, gardens for picnicking…
The Plaza del Toro
Fortress
I’m sorry to have to leave, but there are two more cities to go, Madrid and Granada.
