First, Sorry for the delay, life's been way too exciting lately!
Friday night consisted of going back to the Eiffel Tower and this
started the time period of "whichever direction I suggest go in the
opposite one!" Amazingly though it was several degrees cooler ice was
no longer the issue. We coincidentally met up with another group of GTL
students so we all rode the elavator up to the top together. The second
level or "first" if you want to think of it in Europe terms, was a lot
colder. Great views though! Now the top of the tower was incomparably
colder. I stepped out the door and felt like someone had just dropped me
off in Antarctica! Perhaps with no clothes on. So cold! Especially on
the windy side of the tower, which happened to be the side when my
camera battery died (coincidence? I think not.) and I had to complete a
very quick operation of switching the batteries.

Part of the group huddling in a glass wind block as we waited online! |
Panorama:
|
At the top, not even trying not to be cold. Already numb! |
|
Almost 281 meters tall. Almost! |
|
An attempt to give you some perception at the height of the tower, though European cars are always just about that small! |
|
A very realistic scene staged on the top of the tower (indoors where it was warm) |
|
Another perspective |
|
If you can't see, we all took a knee. |
The tower had sparkled on the hour while we were waiting so it wasn't until later when we had the chance to see it from a distance. When we did have the chance to see it it was snowing as well; so a picture of it looks like the whole world is sparkling!

The excitement and cold, said and done, it was more than time to find something warm to eat! Pasta ham and egg yoke at Alfio's Cafe Restaurant. Eggs are really becoming a favorite thing to eat with every meal. Danny, you will have much more competition when I come home :)

All good days come to an end |
So it was back on the subway with these crazy boys...
He's nicknamed Jersey, need I say more?
